The Quarry - The Loop

Mom is the boss that appears on the second floor of Chapter 3 ( Depths, Necropolis, Chilly Depths). She is the initial terminal boss of the game, and defeating her for the first fourth dimension unlocks both the Epilogue ending and Chapter 4 ( Womb).

Behavior [ ]

Mom appears in a unique boss room that has a boss door in the center of all sides of the room. Mom tin can use these doorways to perform diverse attacks:

Stomps on Isaac's position, damaging nearby enemies and destroying obstacles. This assail is telegraphed by a growing shadow and her grunting.
If Isaac is near a door, Mom reaches out from it with her hand, dealing contact damage.
Sticks out a piece of flesh from a door and spawns a Monster with a maximum of 3 alive at once:

Behavior in Mausoleum/Gehenna [ ]

A stronger version of Mom tin can exist fought on the 2nd flooring of the Mausoleum and Gehenna. This version of Mom has noticeably bluer veins on her leg and stronger variations of her attacks:

Stomps 3 times on Isaac'south position in rapid succession, with the 3rd stomp releasing explosions in the central directions.
- If an eye is already attacking, only 1 stomp will be performed.
- She always begins the fight by stomping in one case in the center of the room, only like in Chapter 3.
Sticks an heart out of a door, and if Isaac is in line of sight, it shoots 2 Brimstone beams in a helix pattern towards the door on the reverse side.
- If Mom had already initiated the 3-stomp attack, the optics opened during it won't fire the beams.

Dissimilar in Chapter 3, Mom never uses her hand attack.

Reaches in with her manus through one of the doors, dealing contact harm, if Isaac is shut plenty to one.

In The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls rendition of Credit Bill of fare, the proper noun "Magdalene O. Moriah" can be seen carved in the credit card. The name was reused on 4 Souls+ rendition of Divorce Papers. Edmund has confirmed that this is indeed Mom's total name.
- The initials happen to spell out "M.O.One thousand.".
- This is further confirmed in-game during the background chat during the Ascent, where Dad calls Mom "Maggy" as he tells her to shut upwardly.
  - The concluding proper name "Moriah" is likely a reference to the biblical location of the aforementioned name. In the bible, it is said that Moriah is where Abraham almost sacrificed his son before God sent an angel to cease his paw.
According to Edmund, the occupations of Mom and Dad are stay-at-dwelling house mom and handyman respectively.
Mom is voiced by Carla Kihlstedt.
Mom appeared in the original The Binding of Isaac.
- In the original, Mom's vocalization was provided by Patty Allen-Scott
- Mom's Leg originally dealt a total heart of impairment.

Using the The Bible and killing Mom instantly is a reference on how a bible hits her head in the epilogue of the game, knocking her out or killing her.
During the versus screen, the "Isaac!" line from Mom can be heard, despite the battle non starting yet. She is 1 of seven/ five bosses that can be heard during the versus screen; the other six/ 4 are Big Horn, The Stain, The Forsaken, Mom's Heart, It Lives and Mother.
If Isaac gets hurt by Mom, she will laugh.
The skirt she wears on her in-game sprite is difficult to see in regular play, equally her leg extends by the screen. Using the Dataminer or the Meat Cleaver tin make the skirt visible.
- Delirium's Mom grade appears to habiliment a pile of flesh and organs rather than a skirt.
Although Mom tin't damage herself with her stomp attack, she still makes the same pained groan as when she takes damage if the stomps on her hand.

Defeating Mom for the first fourth dimension causes mods to no longer disable achievements.

When she is fought in the Mausoleum, her leg appears to be in a much more than sickly state; with many varicose veins lining it.
